The first milestone of the AGISTIN project has been reached and is now available on the project website here.
The document entitled ‘SoA of Connection Network Codes’ provides the state of the art for the connection network codes (CNC), a set of rules drafted by ENTSO-E, with guidance from the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), to facilitate the harmonisation, integration and efficiency of the European electricity market. Each network code is an integral part of the drive towards completion of the internal energy market and achieving the European Union’s energy objectives.
The report introduces the families of network codes, their milestones and the existing regulation (RfG Regulation, DCC Regulation and HVDC Regulation). It also describes the implementation of the regulations by ACER and ENTSO-E. Finally, the document presents the amendment to the connection network codes and the next steps in Europe’s future scenarios.
The report, written by RINA-C, is part of the work package (WP) 2 ‘Identification and enabling innovative business models for energy storage integration with grid users‘, subtask 2.1, which is assessing CNC and their updates for storage integrations according to the AGISTIN project.
Currently, energy storages are excluded from CNC and since AGISTIN might gather different type of storage that could fall under different connection rules, it is crucial for the project to monitor the evolution of the different CNC.
Therefore, more reports analysing the various technical specifications of CNC and their interaction with AGISTIN technologies are planned for the lifetime duration of the project.
